Hello, I created IoT central application and trying to implement device onboarding from IoT device source code. How could we register a device in IoT Central application with DPS Service from device source code.

I have created DPS Service, For that i need to connected to IoTHub or else is there any other process for IoT Central. And then where to get parameters like registartion_id and symmetrice key for connection.

If you're using IoT Central, you don't need to create a DPS instance and you don't need an IoT Hub. IoT Central includes these services internally. If you follow the IoT Central guickstart (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-central/core/quick-deploy-iot-central), you'll see how to register a device and get the SAS key.

I need to register a device in iot central application from device source code using python. for getting the parameters like provisioning host,register_id, symmetrickey i need to do any configuration in iot central. There are three ways to register a device in IoT Central: automatically, bulk, or individually (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-central/core/overview-iot-central-developer#register-a-device). For the automatic registration, all the device needs is the ID Scope value and a key or certificate derived from the enrollment group in your IoT Central application (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-central/core/concepts-device-authentication#automatically-register-devices):

For bulk or individual registrations - you register the device in IoT Central before it connects - you can then find the device connection details in your IoT Central application:

can you please tell me how to request register a device in iot central application from device source code. I have used bellow code snippet. but i am getting 401 error even i put proper details.

I just tried your code and it works. I tried it in two scenarios:

I registered the device manually first by adding the device on Devices page in IoT Central - I then used the ID Scope, Device ID, and primary key from the Connect panel for the device.

I allowed the device to self-register. I used the ID scope from the "Device connection group" and generated a device key from the SAS in the enrollment group (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-central/core/concepts-device-authentication#automatically-register-devices)

I think you can attach a file to a comment here (click the paperclip) - there's a limit of 3 MB. I don't know what file types are allowed without trying.

Is there a size limitation on sending the file from device to cloud and vice versa, using IOT central. And how do I send the file using the same, if possible, any links could help.

I tried to run the code using in one of above-mentioned 2 scenarios by you, and I ended with the following error.

The most likely explanation for this error is that you're using the wrong SAS token - I get the same error if I deliberately send an incorrect token.
