    Hi SRP,

Thanks for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

On Microsoft Learn, as we complete modules and courses, we accumulate Experience Points (XP), which serve as a measure of our learning progress and commitment. While these points currently don't have any additional functionality beyond tracking our learning journey, they play a role in motivating us to continue learning and advancing through different levels.

Levels and Experience Points (XP) act as incentives as we navigate our learning path on Microsoft Learning.

Most of the Learn paths have a Sandbox option to complete the exercises for free. In some cases, if you don't' find any sandbox to use, I suggest setting up an individual Azure account.

With the Azure free account, you'll enjoy complimentary access to a range of Azure products for 12 months. Plus, you'll receive a $200 credit for the first 30 days after registration, and access to more than 40 services that are perpetually free of charge.

    1. See the FAQ. They serve no purpose other than to "reward" those who like getting something after completing a learning section. Sort of like a certificate of completion.
    2. You don't need to pay money for the learning paths, AFAIK. They all allow you to use a sandbox which is free and temporary to complete the exercises. You don't need any subscription beyond just having an MS account. If you find one that doesn't then please provide a link to it so we can see what you're talking about.
