Hello,

I am trying to send a Praise to some users in a Teams channel, but something is preventing me from selecting any users. I have tried multiple times, but it still doesn't work. However, in other channels, it seems to be functioning as expected. Can someone please help me with this issue? Thank you.

Subject: Re: New question on Microsoft Q&A, Trouble selecting users in Teams to send Praise

    Dear Spencer,

I am Umar, a member of the Support Team. I understand that you are having trouble selecting users in a specific Teams channel to send Praise. I appreciate your patience as we work together to resolve this issue.

Firstly, I would recommend checking if the affected users have any restrictions or roles within the Teams channel that might be preventing you from sending them Praise. It could be possible that the users have settings or permissions that differ from those in the other channels where you can send Praise without any issues.

You may also want to try the following steps:

    1. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then sign back in to Microsoft Teams.
    2. Use a different browser or try sending Praise using the Teams desktop application (if you haven't already).
    3. Ensure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Teams installed, as this may resolve any bugs or glitches causing the issue.

If you continue to experience trouble after trying these suggestions, please provide me with more details about the specific channel and the affected users (with their permission and while respecting privacy guidelines). This will help me better understand the issue and offer a more targeted solution.

Looking forward to helping you resolve this issue.

    Best regards,

    Umar

    Hi @Sun, Spencer

Please try clearing the Teams cache and logging in again:

Also check to see if the user in question in the channel has been assigned an App Permissions policy to control user access to Praise.

    Hi all,

    Thanks for your kind help!

I already found where the problem is:

If the channel is a private one, then you could not use 'Praise' function.

So my solution is creating a standard channel.

Thanks again and share with you! @LiweiTian-MSFT @Umar

    Regards,

    Spencer
