Learning Path: Manage identity and access in Microsoft Entra ID
Module: Create Azure users and groups in Microsoft Entra ID
Unit: 2 - What are user accounts in Microsoft Entra ID?
User accounts in Microsoft Entra ID consist of various types, each designed for specific roles and access levels within an organization's environment.
1.Administrator Accounts: These accounts possess elevated privileges and are tasked with managing identity-related functions within the Microsoft Entra organization. Administrators can create, modify, and delete user accounts, assign administrative roles to others, reset user passwords, manage user licenses, and undertake other essential tasks related to identity management.
2.Member User Accounts: Member user accounts are inherent to the Microsoft Entra organization and are typically for internal users. They possess default permissions enabling them to manage their profile information and perform other basic tasks within the organization. However, they lack administrative privileges such as creating or deleting user accounts.
3.Guest User Accounts: Guest user accounts have limited permissions within the Microsoft Entra organization. They are invited to collaborate with the organization from external domains and can sign in using their work, school, or social identities. Guest users have restricted access to specific resources as determined by the organization, ensuring controlled collaboration with external partners or stakeholders.

NOTE: Managing user accounts entails activities such as creation, modification, and deletion, which can be carried out using various tools such as the Azure portal, Azure PowerShell, or the Azure CLI. Additionally, when a user account is deleted, it enters a suspended state for a specified period during which it can be restored if necessary.
