Why is the "1. Master pipeline" not appearing in Synapse Studio?

In the training module https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/design-modern-data-warehouse-using-azure-synapse-analytics/5-design-ingestion-patterns-for-warhouse , it is requested to expand the pipelines and select "1. Master Pipeline". When I open Synapse Studio, however, the pipelines cannot be expanded and adding a pipeline nor browsing the gallery helps. Can anybody explain me which step I need to take or which step I missed?

    Hi Meint de Vries,

We appreciate your engagement with us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the query you posted, we understand that you are having trouble expanding the pipelines and selecting the “1 Master Pipeline” from the Synapse Studio.

The document provides an example of two data ingestion patterns for illustrative purposes in the “Data ingest” section. Please find the screenshot attached below where the "Data ingest" section shows an example of both the data ingestion patterns:

    newsynapse1

1.Data Ingestion using Copy Data Activity: The primary component of Azure Synapse Analytics for ingesting data is the Copy Data activity within Azure Synapse Pipelines. Typically, this activity is included within an Execute Pipeline activity, along with other features such as lookup operations or split data activities. The document illustrates this data ingestion activity from point 1 to point 5 in the “Data ingest” section.

2.Data Ingestion using a Data Flow: Alternatively, you can create a connection within a Data Flow that points to a source database. This source database serves as the starting point for ingesting data and allows you to use the data within additional transformation activities. The document provides details on this data ingestion activity in points 6 and 7 of the “Data ingest” section.

Regarding the absence of visible pipelines when expanding the pipelines in the Integrate hub from your Synapse Studio, it’s important to note that this is because you haven’t created any pipelines yet. The pipelines mentioned in the document are purely for demonstration purposes.

    Hi Meint de Vries,

As previously mentioned, it is important to clarify that the absence of visible pipelines when expanding the pipelines in the Integrate hub from your Synapse Studio is because no pipelines have been created from your end yet.

The pipelines referenced in the document are solely for the purpose of demonstrating data ingestion concepts, such as the Copy Data activity within an Execute Pipeline activity and establishing a connection within a Data Flow. The document presents two data ingestion patterns accompanied by example screenshots showing to aid in understanding these concepts.
