In some of our larger events using Microsoft Teams, part of the agenda is to play video that includes sound. Sometimes the person running the video forgets to "Turn on" "Include Sound' when playing the video while sharing their screen. It leads to frustration and embarrassment.

Wanted to know:

(1) Is there a button in 'Teams options' area that would default the 'Include Sound' to 'On'.?

(2) Is there a way to set the default for our organization to 'Include Sound' to 'On' when sharing screen?

Any advice to make it more likely that it's not forgotten would be helpful. I also wonder why the option exists, I have never run into a problem with it turned on.

    Hi @Stony Brook KG

In Microsoft Teams meetings, there is no option to default the "Include sound" toggle to "On."

There's also no way to set our organization's default "Include Sound" to "On".

If you want to get this feature, you can send a feedback directly to Microsoft Feedback to add it in future updates.

Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

There is no option to default the "Include Sound" toggle to "On" in Microsoft Teams meetings. However, meeting organizers or presenters can turn on the "Include Sound" option before sharing their screen to ensure that the audio is included. Additionally, meeting policies can be set to allow or disallow meeting recording, which can also affect whether audio is recorded.
