I am interested to know would disabling Text Input Management Service would prevent TabTip from appearing on my device? And is it safe to disable it, meaning will it cause other issues for my device?

Hello and thank you for your answer. Is there any way that I can prevent TabTip from popping up randomly on my device? When TabTip pops up, my exam portal closes and I need to make it stop doing that. Is there a way I can do this?

Good day!

You can try to hit the Windows key, type Task Manager in the search bar, and click Open. Navigate to the Processes tab and find the TabTip.exe process. Right-click on it and select End task.

Petya, we have the same issue as you. We don't care if we have a touch screen PC or not, we want TabTip.exe to be disabled. Daisy is providing information on how to end the process, however, once the process has been ended, it starts up on its own within seconds. THIS IS NOT A FIX. We've also tried disabling the Text Input Management Service from MSCONFIG, but when unchecking the box and applying the setting, it will auto-check the box again, resulting in NOT BEING DISABLED.

The reason this is a HUGE issue is that programs like Sage 50 Accounting advise customers (LIKE MYSELF) that the TabTip.exe process is conflicting with their software. Obviously it's easy enough to contact Sage and tell them to rewrite their software, but why would they listed to me? I'm genuinely curious as why Microsoft has this process so locked down. Not everyone wants to use the functionality of touch screen / handwriting on a touch-enabled device.
