Cannot open past Mail emails in New Outlook

Question

I cannot open my Mail emails that were saved in Word Documents in the New Outlook. A message states I need to purchase Microsoft 365. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I reproduce the issue in my New Outlook. Did you just change the file name? According to my tests, it is saved in .eml form by default in New Outlook. If I change the file name, I get the same error as you.
