SMTP errors with respect to TLS1.2
Hi,
We use Windows server 2016 and 2019 and recently our organisation enforced to use TLS1.2. After which, we started seeing failures with our scripts, HPC and others although our servers have TLS1.2 enabled only.
For the powershell scripts, we added code to enforce TLS1.2 for send email as below and got it working.
For for Microsoft HPC 2019, we are unable to use the email feature. So as with our vendor Intex config as well, we started to stop receiving emails.
Below are the errors we get:-
May 09 15:05:46 sendEmail[70148]: ERROR => TLS setup failed: SSL connect attempt failed with unknown errorerror:1407742E:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version
Process failed. Operation type: Error
The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: #5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first
Server returned status code: MustIssueStartTlsFirst
Can you please help?
