Users with update MS Lists view in SharePoint Lists (MC709979) unable to see items in list

I have a large list with 31,000 items in it. Users that have been updated to the new List view (as described in MC709979) are not seeing any items in the normal view. The view has been filtered and only has about 20 items showing. Everyone else can see the items in the list, but not the people who have been updated.

Any idea what is going on?

It seems this is not a common issue per my test. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, Please kindly provide more information below to let us work further.

Ask the affected users to clear their browser cookies and cache. Sometimes, outdated data can cause display issues.

Try to use a different browser or your browser's InPrivate mode to see if the same error occurs.

Are other users with permissions facing the same problem? View through another computer or account.

Whether all SharePoint view have the same problem? You could create a new SharePoint view to check.

Check if the same issue occurs with other SharePoint site collections.

Hello! Thanks for your response. I attached a screenshot of this "tabbed" view I am seeing. It aligns with the update I mentioned in the title.

Here are some answers:

Users have already cleared cookies multiple times.

No other browsers are available in our org. Org has also blocked private mode.

There are some users having the same problem, but only those with this upgraded view of the SharePoint list. I did notice that the issue seems intermittent. The tabbed view is always there, but sometimes the contents of list load and sometimes the list loads but it is empty.

Yes, it appears that the user is not getting the same tabbed view on other sites. Strange!

Do you think it could be related to the size of the list? There are about 31,000 items in that list although I have set up the views with indexed columns and they are all below threshold.

I have noticed a lot of performance issues with large lists in general.

Hi,

A list can have up to 30 million items . When a list view shows more than 5000 items, you may run into a list view threshold error and the possibility of unforeseen problems.

Based on your description, it could be due to the MC709979 update or may be related to the Large List Resource Throttling feature. You can review the recommendations, techniques, and tips outlined in the article "Manage large lists and libraries in SharePoint" to reduce the number of items in the view for the affected list or library to 5,000 items or less. Additionally, you can try creating a new view for the list or library or changing the existing view to use indexed columns and filtering to keep the view size for the list to 5,000 items or less.

I've definitely filtered the view properly using indexed lists and I am familiar with how to set up these views to stay below threshold.

I researched Large List Resource Throttling. I am not a site admin, so I can't access. However, I am not sure that I would want to change that number anyway.

The issue is that the content in the list just doesn't load, not that it loads slowly. Once filtered, the view should only be returning less than 100 items.

Any other ideas for how I can fix this?
