I have an Excel spreadsheet I created from a query connection to a SharePoint list I own but when I open the spreadsheet on my Mac Excel desktop app it will NOT refresh the data in the connection? I get the following error: A connection to the SharePoint site cannot be established. To synchronize or refresh your table, you must be able to connect to the SharePoint site.

Receive this even though, I am the Global Administrator of the SharePoint list, I am using a download Excel version of the app and "signed in" as the administrator! Any kind of help would be appreciated!

    Hi @Jay Croyle

Please try following steps on image to refresh data the first time.

    User's image

For more, please refer to: Import and shape data in Excel for Mac (Power Query)

If this step does not work, I suggest you clear credentials:

    • Selecting Data > Get Data > Data Source Settings.
    • In the Data Source Settings dialog box, select the connection you want.
    • At the bottom, select Clear Permissions.
    • Confirm this is what you want to do, and then select Delete.

Then re-enter the SharePoint credentials for a check.
