Hello, Recently, some of the computers in my company (Win10 22H2) failed to install the security update as shown in the title with error code 0x80070643.

I checked that the following KB requires a recovery partition >250MB to successfully install this update, and my recovery partition is 571MB, so I don't understand why the installation can't be successful.

This security update is 4 months old, is there a suitable solution? Thank you!

Crazy eh? Apparently Microsoft has been promising a fix for this since January (5 months). Which seems odd since the convoluted workaround repartition fix has been available for months.

I tried unsuccessfully to get do the repartition fix posted and ran into errors. Why is there no update that checks and resizes partition as part of the update (or new update)? You know Microsoft, you own and manage the OS, you can do that. It's actually your responsibility.

There is a bit of lost trust in Microsoft as this is listed as a Security Update, the corporate mandate seems to always have users encouraged to keep up-to-date with security patches... yet when their update is faulty they change their tune to "we'll get to it eventually, what's the rush?" Well, security and confidence in this OS as a product.

    Hello.

250MB is just the recommended minimum.

I suggest that you resize the recovery partition to 750 MB or larger will solve this problem. This error occurs due to the lack of free disk space in the recovery partition.
