I recently installed windows every was working I install wsl for development on ubuntu I wanted to have the taskbar on the left (like ubuntu which I'm familiar with) so I checked around and found an article said I should edit registry Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3 I did and restarted file explorer and I noticed my audio is no longer working. I'm not total sure it that's the cause of the audio not working but I noticed audio not working shortly after that. I have since change registery again to have the taskbar at the bottom like before but audio is still not working.

    Hi Yussif,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your audio after editing the registry. Editing the registry can be risky and may cause unexpected issues.

To troubleshoot the audio issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check if the audio device is properly connected and turned on.
    2. Check if the audio device is set as the default playback device. To do this, right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings". Under the "Output" section, select your audio device and click "Set as default".
    3. Check if the audio driver is up to date. You can go to the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest driver for your audio device.
    4. Try running the audio troubleshooter. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot" > "Playing Audio" and click "Run the troubleshooter".

    Hope this helps,
