Getting a USB fax modem to work with Windows Fax and Scan

I want my USB fax modem I've plugged into my Windows 10 PC and my phone line to be able to send and receive faxes.

I've managed to add the modem into Windows Fax and Scan successfully. It's driver is the "Conexant USB CX93010 ACF Modem", dated 2/24/2008.

I am unable to send or receive faxes. When I try to send or receive something, I get an error message reading "The fax can't be sent because of an unexpected error." I also noticed that, when going into "Tools" -> "Fax Settings" -> "More Options", the TSID and CSID fields are blank by default. I tried putting in my phone line's number into the TSID and CSID fields, but it still doesn't work.

Any advice or clarifying questions would be appreciated.

Visit Conexant website for driver updates for your specific modem model.

Simply entering your phone number might not be the correct information.

Contact your internet service provider and inquire about the required TSID and CSID values for faxing.

While Windows Fax and Scan is a built-in option, it might have limitations. Consider alternative fax software.
