Unsuccessful sign in attempts

Hi,

I recently discovered that on Microsoft authenticator I am getting multiple unsuccessful attempts from around the world to access my hotmail. The app just says that because it was unsuccessful there is nothing I need to do. Having looked online, I have changed my password to be on the safe side, but can also see suggestions to make an alias email. I feel this may complicate things though. Ultimately, is it safe to have this happen, as long as my 2 step verification is on?

I also have another unrelated issue - I am trying to register for NHS TIS however missed the initial QR code. Now I do not have this account on my authenticator and cant find a way to register it (i.e. get QR code) again, so cannot get my 6 digit verification to log in. Can I get sent a QR code again? I urgently need to access the TIS.

Thanks
