Why isn't fingerprint login available on my Vostro 5502?

I used to be able to use fingerprint login on my Vostro 5502, but now it's no longer available. How can I troubleshoot this issue and get it working again?

    There could be several reasons why fingerprint login is no longer available on your Vostro 5502 running Windows 11. You can troubleshoot this issue as below:

    1.Check the fingerprint sensor driver may need to be updated. You can check for driver updates by going to the Device Manager, locating the fingerprint sensor device, right-clicking on it, and selecting "Update driver."

    2.Check the fingerprint sensor may be disabled in the BIOS settings. You can access the BIOS settings by restarting your computer and pressing the appropriate key (usually F2 or Del) during startup. Once in the BIOS settings, look for an option related to the fingerprint sensor and make sure it is enabled.

    3.Check what change you may make recently caused fingerprint login not available.

    4.Check based on the error message when fingerprint login not available.

    5.If you can reset your fingerprint, you can reset it to a different fingerprint (with a different finger) and check if it works.

    6.Hardware issues, if neither of these solutions work, you can also contact Dell support for further assistance.
