I am more familiar with Visual studio over VS code and I was wondering with my work PC if I could test some VSTO projects as to see if worth migrating our VBA projects to something modern. I was thinking for the testing to use the community edition. Would that be allowed?

@Anna Xiu-MSFT It would be acceptable for Microsoft as user within a corporation that exceeds 1M in revenue and over 250 computer users to test/demo visual studio with the community edition as long as I do not deploy a solution company wide or use in production?

@Jonathan Brotto, With respect to organizations that are defined as an "enterprise" in the VS2022 Community Edition EULA it states, "If you are an enterprise, your employees and contractors may not use the software to develop or test your applications, except for: (i) open source; (ii) Visual Studio extensions; (iii) device drivers for the Windows operating system; (iv) SQL Server development; and, (v) education purposes as permitted above." Any use of the Community edition beyond those stated exceptions would be prohibited by the license.

An enterprise could consider using the VS2022 Trial Edition which allows for internal evaluation in non-production environments during the Trial Period. Refer to https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/license-terms/vs2022-ga-proenterprise/
