How to Make Visual Studio Update Itself Without Asking for Administrative Permission?

Hello,

How can a standard user update Visual Studio without Windows 10 prompting for an administrator username/password?

In my company, laptops are provided with only standard user access. Currently, when auto-update on closure is enabled, closing Visual Studio prompts for an administrator username/password. If this prompt is cancelled, the updates cannot proceed.

Is there a way to configure Visual Studio or Windows 10 directly, using administrator username/password, and make the system to allow Visual Studio specifically to update itself without requiring administrative credentials in the future? Any guidance or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Take a look at the available options documented at Configure policies for enterprise deployments of Visual Studio.
