Hi guys
Our server is hacked and got ransom. We did not have any backup in place. We did not setup a backup schedule.
Does Azure have a backup in the cloud for emergency purpose?

This requires to setup Azure Backup for the VM.
Based on the text of Reeves-3973 he didn't setup Azure Backup for the VM.
There is no backup in a Recovery Service Vault for restore.
He is asking if Microsoft has a backup, without setting up Azure Backup before. The answer based in this scenario should be "no". Or did I miss something?

If you didn't setup a backup for the VM there is no backup available to restore.
Microsoft does not have a backup "behind the scenes" for this cases.

Microsoft Azure does provide a backup solution for Azure VM.
Azure Backup provides independent and isolated backups to guard against unintended destruction of the data on your VMs. Backups are stored in a Recovery Services vault with built-in management of recovery points. Configuration and scaling are simple, backups are optimized, and you can easily restore as needed.

related to the text from Reeves-3973 he didn't setup/configure Azure Backup for the VM.
Based on this information the answer to his question "Does Azure have a backup in the cloud for emergency purpose?" must be "no".
Azure Backup must be configured actively for a VM and at least one backup must be created successfully. Or did I miss something?
