RDP on IOS does not work correctly on new ipad?

When using RDP ios app on new Ipad Pro, the mouse pointer does not align with buttons / dropdowns etc on the remote server.
This is specific to the new ipad.
No similar problems with old ipad, or Windows laptop.
is this a known fault? Or is there a solution?
