Azure Migrate for Physical Server Discovery

Hi

We're in process of discovering the on-premise infra using Azure Migrate. There are some physical servers that we need to assess. After reading the article--> https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/tutorial-discover-physical, it feels like discovering the physical servers requires deploying the Azure Migrate appliance on a physical server itself - is this correct?

Can we not discover the physical servers using the Azure Migrate appliance deployed as VM on VMWare / Hyper-V ? If we can, does it have to be a dedicated for physical servers or we can use the same appliance that we deployed to discover the virtual infrastructure (vCenter and Hyper-V)?

Per recommendation from the Azure Migrate feature team, deploy the appliance to a dedicated Physical machine or VM for optimal discovery.
