How do I get rid of Groove Music and will I lose my music that was downloaded

After the last windows update Groove Music appeared out of nowhere and has prevented me from using my I-tunes with ease. I designate I-tunes when I download music and it goes to Groove Music instead. Its my music and I can not manipulate it the way I could with I-tunes. Groove Music is a terrible app that I never wanted or asked for.
My Husband is a musician and this app is taking his music and I cant get it out to put on a thumb drive or CD.
Please help me get rid of it and assure me that my music will still be on my PC. I need it ALL in my personal I-tunes library ASAP
