Giving programs a fix place when connecting to multiple monitors

Good day to all,

Because of my work, I need to be both stationary and mobile. This means that I have to couple and decouple my laptop from my workstation multiple times a day. When I decouple, all the open programs on my two other screens are thrown onto my laptop screen (totally normal). The issue I am facing is that when I couple my laptop again, all programs stay on my laptop screen, and I have to manually move them to the preferred screen or part of the screen (e.g., 2 programs sharing half of a screen).

I have been looking for a way to predetermine the location where the programs will be when I connect to my docking station and, as an additional feature, when I open/start the programs themselves. My searches have been futile so far, so I am hoping people here will be able to help. I am not scared if it gets a bit technical; that would only be a way for me to learn more.

Thank you for reading!
