steering wheel (pxn v10) does not detect dinput mode as game controller

I posted a similar question on answers.microsoft.com but they told me to post it here on Microsoft learn since its beyond their scope and unfortunately can't help.

So my steering wheel suddenly did not detect Dinput mode as a game controller when I restarted my pc but it does detect it as a keyboard, mouse, and game controller on devices and printers with a keyboard icon instead of controller. Xinput works and it's detected as a game controller. I already tried to restart my pc, unplug and plug the steering wheel, downgrading and updating the firmware, deleting the pxn v10 registry files, and uninstalling the device. I also tried the steering wheel on my laptop to check if it's a steering wheel problem and it's not, it works in both dinput and xinput mode on the laptop. Any solution to fix this problem?

I had the same issue and happened to just find a fix that worked for me and these are the steps that I took:

    1. Press the Windows key and type "Bluetooth and other devices settings" where it should take you to the system settings.
    2. Under the "input" category, you'll see the PXN V-10 wheel listed. For me, it said "Driver error" under the name of the wheel. Click the three dots on the right and remove the device.
    3. Re-plug the USB into your PC and it should work in D-input mode.
