"limit responses to your data content" checkbox in https://oai.azure.com/ does not have any effect on the LLM response.

The "limit responses to your data content" checkbox in https://oai.azure.com/ chat playground does not have any effect on the LLM response. LLM always uses my own data source ( Azure AI Search service) without taking into consideration if "limit responses to your data content" checkbox is checked or not. The JSON shows [ "in_scope": true ] when flag it is not checked ! and [ "in_scope":false ] when it is checked ! Should it be opposite way ? But nevertheless, in both situations LLM only works with the attached data source.

When Limit responses to your data setting is disabled, the model supplements its responses with its own knowledge in addition to your documents. When this setting is enabled, the model attempts to only rely on your documents for responses.
Do you have any system message configured?

2024-05-22T15:31:11.4866667+00:00 Hello Ashok. The Limit responses to your data was disabled it did not have any effect on the responses. I got back only responses based on my index. Here is the example: A. without my index attached the question "who won superball 2012" returns correct answer. B. with index attached and Limit responses to your data enabled the question "who won superball 2012" returns "I can not answer this question". This is expected response. C. with index attached and Limit responses to your data disabled the question "who won superball 2012" still returns "I can not answer this question". BTW, this morning I do not see Limit responses to your data option on the oai.azure.com/portal anymore. It disappeared.
