Windows server 2019 activation errors

Hello, community,

Please assist, I keep getting error code 0x80072ee2 when I try to activate windows server 2019, i have tried using the GUI as well as the command line using DISM. The server has Hyper V configured and two of the VMs are already activated using the same license key. When I try activating the host, I get that error, I have tried troubleshooting from the GUI but it says windows cannot activate the system. Please help :(.

    Hello @Jenny Yan-MSFT Sorry, I have been offline. What eventually worked was a phone activation, I am not in the US so i had to use other means of phone activation.

    Hi,

    If possible, please take a screenshot for the error and upload the images directly so that I can do further analysis based on the error.

    I need to verify whether it is OEM or Retail or Volume.
    Right click on Windows Start > Click on either Powershell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin)
    Copy below and paste and Enter:
    slmgr.vbs /dlv

    I'd check that the installation media channel lines up with the product key channel (OEM, Retail, Volume) Also try phone activation
