Serverless databases stuck in recovery pending

I'm encountering an issue with two serverless databases in my Azure Synapse Analytics workspace. Since this morning, both databases have been in a "Recovery Pending" state. Unfortunately, I'm unable to influence the recovery process as they are serverless and managed by Microsoft.

Gain insights into the cause of the recovery delay?

Alternatively, are there any actions I can take to expedite the recovery or potentially recreate the databases?

I appreciate any guidance on how to proceed in this situation.

    Hi @Thomasville99

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

I'm sorry to hear that you're encountering issues with your serverless databases in Azure Synapse Analytics. The "Recovery Pending" state indicates that the database is in the process of recovering from a failure or restore operation. This process can take some time, depending on the size of the database and the amount of data that needs to be recovered.

To gain insights into the cause of the recovery delay, you can check the Azure portal's Activity Log for any relevant error messages or notifications. You can also try to recreate the databases by exporting the data and importing it into a new database.

Additionally, you can check this thread which addressing similar issue: How to fix Recovery Pending databases in Synapse SQL Serverless pool.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
