Hello,

I have two AD servers one 2016 and one 2022, I migrated the FSMO, DNS and DHSCP Roles from the 2016 to the 2022, the 2016 is now secondary controller.

From the 2022 controller, when I go to user and computer Active directory and I right-click on the domain and change domain controller in the window that appears I have my main controller that appears in ( Not available) and the 2016 online, however since the 2016 server 2022 is well online

I get no message in the event viewer

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To troubleshoot this issue, please kindly follow below steps:

1.Check TCP/dommain connection between the DC and DC 2022 by ping/telnet command.

2.Run nslookup domain name and see if it can resolve the domain name to correct IP address.

3.Check if there's further log under below path:

    1.Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Security

2.Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > DNS Server

    3.Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou
