Hi Koehler, Menno (ITOP NX) - KLM,

Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Q&A forum.

From your question we understand that you are trying to complete the exercise from Exercise - Create a web app in the Azure portal.

To complete this exercise, you don't need an active subscription since it uses an default Sandbox. Activate the Sandbox and navigate to the Azure Portal, where you will see that you are logged in with the Sandbox directory, as shown below:

    WEBAPP

After login with the Microsoft Learn Sandbox directory, please follow the instructions given in the exercise and you will be able to see the default subscription and Resource Group as shown in the below screenshot:

Click on "Review + Create" to navigate to the review pane, then select "Create." This will open the deployment pane, where you can monitor the status of your deployment.

Once the deployment is complete, click on "Go to resource." This will bring up the App Service Overview pane for your web app, as shown in the screenshot below:

To preview the default content of your web app, click on the URL under "Default domain" at the top right as shown in above screenshot. If the placeholder page loads, it confirms that your web app is up and running and ready for the deployment of your app's code as shown in below screenshot:
