I want Edge updates to be received whenever I create a deployment in Azure Update Manager. What is the best possible Group Policy to set on the Azure VM to stop the automatic update of Edge and instead update it on a monthly basis through Scheduled deployment?

    Hi @Rath, Sibananda

I'm not familiar with Azure Update Manager, but in Edge if you want to disable auto update, you can configure this policy Update policy override.

You can enable this policy and set the option to Updates disabled. Please note that this policy is available only on Windows instances that are joined to a Microsoft® Active Directory® domain.

@Yu Zhou-MSFT thank you for the information.

@Rath, Sibananda, in addition to the information shared above, I would like to add the following:

By default, the Windows Update client is configured to provide updates only for the Windows operating system. If you enable the Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows setting, you also receive updates for other Microsoft products. Updates include security patches for Microsoft SQL Server and other Microsoft software.

To enable this setting at scale on VMs managed by Update manager, follow the steps available here - Azure Update Manager: First-party updates on Windows

    Hope this helps.
