I have the same problem with my gmail account. I recently had to change my Google password and now all my folders of saved emails are empty on my iPad and my iPhone. Fortunately they are still in my desktop pc. How do I reinstate them?
All my emails folders are still showing but they are all empty
Hi. I had to change my password for my Hotmail account. When it did work, Hotmail disappeared and outlook took over. Fine. I checked that all my folders were still there, with their contents. All was intact. Fast forward to today, I needed to check a date on an email I had moved to one of the folder. Bad surprise, my folder is empty.
i did not delete anything and all my other folders are empty as well.
now what ? I had plane tickets and other tickets that I will need this coming week.

Please kindly understand that the Outlook tag here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client. Looks like the issue is more related to your account, it's suggested that you could post your case in dedicated forum for Hotmail for more professional advice.
This issue can be quite concerning, especially when important emails seem to have disappeared. Here are a few steps you can take to try and recover your emails:
- Log in to your browser client to check if the email disappears.
- Configure the Hotmail account to IMAP or Exchange in Outlook.
- Check if a filter was applied to the default view settings of the Outlook folder. In the ribbon, select the View > Current View > View Settings. Select Filter.
