How to write accents (dead keys) using Android remote desktop client with an attached keyboard?

I use Android's remote desktop client on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. I connect mouse and keyboard to it (I tested with 2 keyboards: a bluetooth one I use on my laptop, and another that is attached to the case). I connect to a server and try to write accentuated words such as João or Ángel. No way. When in the remote session, they end up as Jo˜ao and ´Angel. No matter what I do. When I write with a dead key, it gets directly written, instead of waiting for the next letter to actually join both characters. How to fix that? Thanks.

    Hello,

The Windows client makes this possible with the US-International keyboard by pressing Ctrl + ' or " and then typing a, resulting in á or ä.

If you are using the US International keyboard layout, you should be able to use the "dead keys" functionality (where you type " ' " followed by " a " to get " á "). The "dead keys" functionality might break backspace sometimes, since "dead keys", once pressed, cannot be cancelled with a backspace (need to press "space").

The functionality of dead keys can be very dependent on the specific remote desktop client and its compatibility with the server's operating system and settings.

Here are some steps to check:

1.Ensure that the keyboard language settings on both your Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and the remote server are set to the same language, preferably one that supports dead keys (like US International).

2.Look for any keyboard-related settings within the remote desktop client app that might affect how keystrokes are sent to the server.

3.On the server, check the regional and keyboard settings to ensure they are set to a layout that supports dead keys.

4.You can try a different remote desktop client to see if it handles keyboard input differently.
