Whilst using the migration manager in the SharePoint admin centre to migrate a file share to the cloud I notice this error from the scan logs for some individual files 'ITEM_IS_EMPTY' . I can't find out much information of what this error actually means and can't see it in the list of error codes https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/mm-cloud-reports#failure-codes ?

    Hi @Kevin Egan ,

Thank you for posting in this community.

The error message "ITEM_IS_EMPTY" in the Migration Manager scan log indicates that the file being migrated is empty. This error is not listed in the official Microsoft documentation on error codes for Migration Manager. However, it is a straightforward error that indicates that the file being migrated is empty.

Verify that the files marked with this error are indeed empty. You can do this by opening them manually or checking their properties.

If the files are intentionally empty, you need to exclude them from the migration.

    “ITEM_IS_EMPTY”. This means it’s a 0 byte file.

Is there any way to tell SPMT to ignore flagging ITEM_IS_EMPTY on empty files? And is there a reason I shouldn't? I've scanned quite a few folders (900+) and checked results for the few. I expect lots of these and can't think of a reason these empty files will be problematic if migrated to SP.

    Thanks in advance,

    ac
