WSUS client doesn't download updates, using group policies, no domain

I'm setting up in a lab a Windows Server 2022 with WSUS and a Windows 10 Education client. I'm using group policy since AD it's too complex for what I need.

The client is connected to the Server and shows up in WSUS, it finds the updates but never start, they stuck in "downloading: 0%".

In the server I installed the role, selected the products and synchronized it with the Microsoft Servers.

In the client I configured "Specify intranet Microsoft update service location" with the Server IP address and enabled "Enable client-side targeting".

Since I'm new to this I'm probably missing something, what could be?

    Hello,

Firstly, if these updates have been approved to deploy to client.

Step 3 - Approve and Deploy Updates in WSUS | Microsoft Learn

It sounds like you have the basic setup in place for WSUS, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the Windows Update log on the Windows 10 client to see if there are any error messages that might indicate why the updates are not downloading.
    2. Verify that the Windows Update service is running on the client machine. You can do this in the Services management console or by running the command ‘services.msc’ and looking for “Windows Update” in the list.
    3. Ensure that the Windows Firewall or any third-party security applications are not blocking the communication between the Windows 10 client and the WSUS server.
    4. Manually run the command “wuauclt /detectnow” in an elevated Command Prompt on the Windows 10 client to force it to check for updates.

    Best Regards,
