I had an old outlook email account for a previous employer that i no longer need or use and now im trying to sign into a different email on outlook and it won’t allow me to it still says the old account is found. I just want to be able to sign into my new account. I’ve unregistered the old one with outlook authentication and i’ve uninstalled the app plenty of times and still is promoting the old account.

    Hi @Auntranece Rogers

    Welcome to our forum!

According to your description, it sounds like you’re experiencing a persistent issue with an old Outlook account that’s preventing you from signing into your new account. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this:

    1. Check for Cached Credentials: Sometimes, even after uninstalling an app, the credentials might be cached. You can clear these by going to the Credential Manager in Windows and removing any saved credentials related to the old Outlook account.
    2. Disconnect your accounts in Windows Settings. Click the Start button, and then click Settings. Click Accounts, scroll down, and then click the Microsoft account you would like to delete. Click Remove, and then click Yes.
    3. Remove the Old Account from Outlook: If you’re using the classic Outlook for Windows, you can remove an account by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings>Select the old account and then choose Remove.
