The free tier gives you 100,000 vCore seconds of database usage per month. Basically, vCore seconds measure how much computing power your database uses. If your database workload exceeded this limit, there might be charges for the extra usage.
There’s also an option to keep your database running even after exceeding the free tier limit, which could lead to additional charges. It’s possible this option was enabled by accident.
To check, log in to the Azure portal and see how many vCore seconds your database has used. Also, review the billing settings to see if the "continue using" option was turned on.
