Hi Team,

We have found a strange thing in the user profile. There are two users Sam and Ram. Sam is the manager to Ram, so Ram reports to Sam. When we check Sam's profile, normally under organization the user's who reports to sam will be visible under his profile.

But if we check, Ram profile is not visible under Sam's profile. And aslo, if we search user profile in teams it will give the search results of profile cards. But in this case when we search for Ram's profile in teams it is not visible, even if we enter the mail id or user name the search results is empty. It will only show, if we put email id/ name and press enter and click the people filter, then ram profile will be visible.

This is the strange behavior that we have noted. We have also checked in on-prem AD by comparing other user profile with Ram's profile by each and every properties. But no difference is found.

Please let us know what the is the issue behind this?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks & regards,

Karthikeyan Balasubramani

    Hi @KarthikeyanBalasubramani-1991

Here are a few possibilities that might be causing this issue:

1.Teams Cache: Microsoft Teams client has a local cache that stores user profile information. If this cache is not updated or is corrupted, it might not show the latest information.

Please try clearing the cache and updating Teams to the latest version.

2.Sync Issue: There might be a synchronization issue between your on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD. There might be a mismatch in the attributes of Ram’s profile in the on-premises AD and Azure AD.

Please check in Azure AD that the user is correctly configured and in M365 admin center that the user has been assigned a manager.
