Excel 2016 share to mail not working

We are having issues with Excel 2016 and sharing it to mail.

It gives this error message.

Excel is running on an RDS 2016 environment and is not using any Microsoft 365 service.

OS and Excel are up2date and I already did an Office repair for it, which did not fix the issue..
Also renamed the msmapi32.dll but it won't create a new one. Also created this case but not comming any further:

Strange thing is that share to email in Word is working on the same machine ..

Any ideas?

    I suggest you check that Outlook (or your default email client) is properly configured and set as the default mail application.

    Please confirm 2 applications have the same account sign.
