Azure Database for MySQL (Flexible server): "temporary failure in name resolution"

We connect to an instance of Azure MySQL (with HA enabled) from an AKS cluster. No custom DNS. Recently we've been frequently getting the following.

(pymysql.err.OperationalError) (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'our-db-name.mysql.database.azure.com' ([Errno -3] Temporary failure in name resolution)")

Any idea?

@Gianluca Gippetto Thanks for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the error message, this could be due to network issues or DNS misconfigurations. Can you provide more information, so earlier it was connecting fine and recently you are seeing the failure.?

Yes, correct. We had other connection issues in the past during MySQL downtime (e.g. maintenance), but this error is new. We haven't touched any DNS configuration.

It happens from time to time. 7 times in the last 7 days, but 0 in the last 2 days.
