Mend.io linking to Azure subscription failed, account inaccessible.

I wanted to use Mend.io in my Azure DevOps organization. However, I was running into some trouble and kept getting the error, "Please connect your organization to an Azure AD via Organization Settings > Azure Active Directory."

I messed around with some user settings in my Azure instance trying to enable this connection, and it seemed to work. Back in DevOps, Mend gave me an option to connect. I selected it, the page reebooted, and it still wasn't connected.

Back in my Azure portal, though, it seems like my subscription has been messed up. I can no longer access my subscription. It's like my account is refreshed, even though I'm using the exact same login. It seems like i've lost access to the Default Directory as it's no longer accessibe through settings.
However, in DevOps I'm still able to deploy packages to my Azure subscription, so it's not deleted, I just can't access it. In Azure I'm getting this notification when I try to do anything, even create a customer service request.

"The portal is having issues getting an authentication token. The experience rendered may be degraded.
Additional information from the call to get a token: Extension: Microsoft_Azure_Support Resource: self Details: The logged in user is not authorized to fetch tokens for extension 'Microsoft_Azure_Support' because the user account is not a member of tenant 'f8cdef31-a31e-4b4a-93e4-5f571e91255a'. Error details: invalid_grant: 50020 - [2024-06-03 19:31:16Z]: AADSTS50020: User account '{EUII Hidden}' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'(Azure Portal) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account."

This is all to say, I'm signing into the same account on both ends, I can deploy to my subscription from DevOps, but can no longer access my subscription in Azure. This is likely due to something going wrong with my settings change or messing with the directories, but I don't know how to get it back.

@Cameron Cox - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Azure DevOps is currently not supported in the Microsoft Q&A platform; the supported products are listed over here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/products (more to be added later on).

In order to assist best on your query, I would request you to post your query in SO => Azure Devops dedicated support. Additionally, adding the [Azure] tag on SO will increase visibility as it is a Microsoft Sponsored tag.

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/azure-devops

    OR

Report any Azure Devops problems on Developer Community.

This will assist you with a faster reply to your query.
