Are there any API or usage reports for Microsoft 365 E5 Security products?

There are many security products offered as part of Microsoft 365 E5. These include:

1. Advanced Threat Protection (ATP):
   • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint: Provides advanced endpoint protection including endpoint detection and response (EDR).
   • Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Includes advanced threat protection capabilities for email and collaboration tools.
2. Security and Compliance:
   • Microsoft Defender for Identity: Identity protection and monitoring services.
   • Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps: Cloud access security broker (CASB) capabilities to manage and secure cloud applications.
   • Azure Information Protection (AIP) P2: Enhanced information protection and data governance features.
   • Microsoft Purview: Comprehensive compliance solutions including Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Advanced Audit, and Customer Lockbox.

Any many more which are not part of Microsoft 365 E3. The question is do you have any API or usage report to gather the use of these security products.

You can try and use Microsoft 365 usage analytics within Power BI. This tool allows you to visualize and analyze Microsoft 365 usage data, create custom reports, and share insights within your organisation. It provides a prebuilt dashboard with a cross-product view of the last 12 months and other prebuilt reports.

You can also customize these reports for more personalized insights. For example, you can modify existing visuals or create new visuals to track the usage of specific products on a monthly basis. If you need to join this data with other data sources for richer insights, you can use Power BI Desktop.
