Is Microsoft Purview Information Protection auto-labeling available for a Dutch customer who has their head location in The Netherlands and therefore having a European based Microsoft 365 tenant? The documentation is inconsistent about this
Is Microsoft Purview Information Protection auto-labeling available for a Dutch customer who has their head location in The Netherlands and therefore having a European based Microsoft 365 tenant? The Microsoft documentation is inconsistent about this.
Inconsistent documentation
The Modern Work Plan Comparison Enterprise sheet says under Microsoft 365 E5 Compliance that Microsoft Purview Information Protection is available, including Automatic sensitivity labels in Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive. However, the Azure dependency availability by country/region article talks about both Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Autolabeling for sensitivity labels but doesn't display The Netherlands in the subsequent list.
Testing
Recently, I created a tenant in European Union, and I could see the Auto-labeling page inside the Microsoft Purview Information Protection area. Looks like the documentation at Azure dependency availability by country/region is not up to date. Can the documentation be updated to reflect is?
Business impact
Implementing Microsoft Purview is a crucial step for organizations who want to secure and govern their Copilot for Microsoft 365 implementation. Specifically, because Dutch language support has recently been added to Copilot for Microsoft 365, a lot of companies in the Netherlands want to implement Data Governance for Copilot for Microsoft 365 including implementing Microsoft Purview Information Protection with auto-labeling. Therefore, clear guidance on this topic helps companies in this Generative AI with Copilot momentum. Not having clear documentation on whether Microsoft Purview Information Protection auto-labeling is available for a Dutch customer reduces the chance of organizations purchasing Microsoft 365 E5 and fully implementing this functionality.
