Hello

Please i need your help on this issue.

One of our users is unable to use Copilot in Teams. The user is properly licensed and Copilot was previously working until a few days ago. Also the transcript option is not available in meetings.

We've performed the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Clear Teams cache from AppData

Copilot is not working in new Teams.

We have checked and copilot is enabled.

There were no policy changes that would affect copilot or Teams.

The user is using the correct account, as Copilot works fine in the web version of Teams. The issue is the desktop application version of Teams.

The license is verified in Admin Center

I've installed the latest version of Teams using the bootstrapper found here :https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/new-teams-bulk-install-client

There are no network problems affecting the user's workstation

There are no new restrictions or configurations. The copilot was working in Teams for desktop prior to this week.

We need to have the issue resolved on this specific PC, as users are assigned specific devices in the organization.

Hi, Given that the issue persists specifically on the desktop application, and since Copilot works fine on the web version, we suggest trying the following additional troubleshooting steps:

    1. Reset Teams App:

    Completely close Microsoft Teams.

    Navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams.

Delete all files and folders within the directory.

Restart Teams to see if the issue is resolved.

    2. Check for OS Updates:

Ensure that the operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, pending OS updates can cause compatibility issues with applications.

    3. Reinstall Teams:

Uninstall Microsoft Teams from the affected PC.

Download and install the latest version from the Microsoft Teams official download page.

    4. Check for Conflicting Applications:

Ensure no other applications or background processes might be conflicting with Teams, such as third-party security software.

    5.Log Analysis:

Collect Teams logs for further analysis. The logs can be found in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\logs.txt.

Look for any errors or warnings that could provide more insight into why Copilot is not functioning.

    6. Test on a Different PC:

As a final check, log into the same user account on a different PC to see if the issue replicates. This can help determine if the problem is isolated to the specific PC.
