Hello,

I'm trying to run the ASR DeploymentPlanner.exe but it says to "Install VMware vSphere PowerCLI 6.0 on local machine". I've visited the VMware/BroadCom site which the link in the MS article points to but the oldest version of PowerCLI I can find is 6.5. When I install PowerCLI 6.5, still gives me the error to install 6.0 and retry. Any thoughts?

Thnak you for your assistance.

Hello @Ted Lemery Thank you for posting your question through Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to help!

The ASR Deployment Planner tool requires VMware PowerCLI version 6.0 to be installed on the machine where the tool is being run. However, as you mentioned, the oldest version of PowerCLI available on the PowerShell Gallery is 6.5, and PowerCLI 6.0 is not available for download from the VMware website.

One possible solution is to try installing PowerCLI 6.0 from an older version of VMware vSphere. You can download older versions of VMware vSphere from the VMware website, and some of these versions may include PowerCLI 6.0. Once you have downloaded the older version of vSphere, you can extract the PowerCLI 6.0 installer and install it on the machine where you are running the ASR Deployment Planner tool.

FYI: If you are still in the planning phase, I recommend using V2A Modernized than V2A Classic.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance in this matter!
