AG latency

AG is out of sync. I tried to reconfigure AG but its taking huge amount of time since the db size is 20TB. Is there any other way to fix the latency?

    Hi @Chaitanya Kiran ,

Thank you for reaching out and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I tried to reconfigure AG but its taking huge amount of time since the db size is 20TB.

Reconfigure the AG takes huge amount of time. I think you'll need to really know what is going on and look into where the slowness is on the AG synchronization.

From this article, we can get the common causes and its solution/troubleshooting mechanism for SQL AG Data Synchronization Latency below:

    • Long-running active transactions in read-only secondary replica
    • High network latency / low network throughput
    • Flow control induced high log send queue size and low log send rate

Could you please follow the steps in this article and try to resolve the issue? Please feel free to share your issue here if you have any confusions.

We will recommend you try to reconfigure the AG and offer more supports in how to reconfigure if we have no methods to resolve your AG latency in the last. Thanks for your understanding. We are looking forward to hearing from you to assist further.

    Best regards,

    Lucy Chen
