Teams translation

Hi All,

I am using M365 E5 license. One of my user wants to use Teams translation. The user says that he is unable to use Teams live caption/translation. Could experts guide me on this? I am not aware of this feature. My user speaks English, but the other users speak different language. My user wants to use this feature to understand other languages.

Try the following and see if it helps:

1.Enabling Live Translated Captions:

1. Turn on Live Captions: During the meeting, have your user click the three dots (...) next to the captions box and select "Turn captions on."
2. Access Caption Settings: Once captions appear, they can click the gear icon next to the captions box to open "Settings."
3. Choose Translation Language: Under "Caption language," they can pick the language they want the captions translated into.

2. Live translated captions (Requires Teams Premium):

• For your user: They can request live translated captions be enabled for the meeting if they are the organizer.
  • Open the event in their Teams calendar.
  • Go to "Meeting options" and select "Translate attendee captions."
  • Choose the languages attendees can see the captions translated to (including English for your user).
• For other attendees: If the organizer has enabled it, they can choose their preferred caption language during the meeting.
  • Click on the captions and select "Settings"
  • Choose the language they want the captions translated to.

Live translated captions in meetings are only available as part of Teams Premium, an add-on license that provides additional features to make Teams meetings more personalized, intelligent, and secure. To get access to Teams Premium, contact your IT admin.
