Questions you should ask yourself when getting an email.

    • Is this someone I normally communicate with via email
    • Does this person even have my email address they are using
    • Is the email requesting that I take action quickly or something will happen
    • Does it have information that the actual emailer wouldn't have
    • The displayed email can be anything so it is unreliable but check for odd domain info (e.g. micros0ft.com)

If you're ever not sure and they provide a "link" then go to the link directly in browser instead of via an email.

If you're still not sure then assume it is bogus.
