Use ID Badge for 2FA or instead of Password

Hello. Is there a way to use an RFID ID Badge either in place of a password or as a 2FA method? Would it be as simple as buying an RFID Smart Card Reader? If so, anything I should know about doing this? Thanks

    I understand that you would like to use the RFID ID Badge either in place of a password or 2FA.
    The below five password less authentication options that integrate with Microsoft Entra ID

    • Windows Hello for Business
    • Platform Credential for macOS
    • Platform single sign-on (PSSO) for macOS with smart card authentication
    • Microsoft Authenticator
    • Passkeys (FIDO2)
    • Certificate-based authentication

    when the users using the Windows smart card sign-in using Microsoft Entra certificate-based authentication will have the user experience as per below doc says
