Copilot for Azure SQL

Question

I am working on a project to move an on-prem database to Azure for the main purpose of using Copilot to help with database actions. Does anyone know if Copilot, specifically Natural Language database querying, will only be on Azure SQL Databases, or if it will also be on SQL Servers on Azure Virtual Machines? We're trying to sort out the best pricing option for our needs. Also, does anyone have any information on how much Copilot will cost? I know it is free during preview, but it seems like it might be a monthly charge like Copilot for 365. Thanks!

As I understand, you want to use Copilot in Azure SQL and also have to migrate on prem database to Azure.

The current preview includes two distinct experiences:

• Microsoft Copilot in Azure integration: This experience adds Azure SQL Database skills into Microsoft Copilot in Azure, customers with self-guided assistance, empowering them to manage their databases and solve issues independently.
• Natural language to SQL: This experience within the Azure portal query editor translates natural language queries into SQL, making database interactions more intuitive.
