Why can I not see costs older then 2 months.

Currently I cannot see costs before April 2024.

Why?

    Hi Laurens van de Venn,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    • Using the portal you are allowed to see up to 13 months of data. If this is a new subscription, it might take up to 48 hours before you can use all the Cost Management features.
    • Ensure you have the necessary permissions, such as the "Reader" or "Cost Management Contributor" role on the subscription or management group.
    • Ensure that filters are not restricting the data to only the last two months.
    • Different subscription types (such as Enterprise Agreement, Microsoft Customer Agreement, or Microsoft Online Services Agreement) have varying levels of detail in their cost data. For example, Enterprise Agreement and Microsoft Customer Agreement accounts include all usage and purchases, while Microsoft Online Services Agreement accounts only include specific usage from Azure and Marketplace services.

If you're unable to see costs older than 2 months in Microsoft, it could be due to a few reasons:

    1. Settings and Filters: The cost view settings or filters might be set to show only the last 2 months. Check your filter settings and adjust the time range to include older data.

Subscription and Permissions: Your subscription or permissions might restrict access to historical data. Ensure that you have the appropriate permissions to view older cost data.

Data Retention Policies: Microsoft may have data retention policies in place that limit the duration for which cost data is retained and visible. Review Microsoft’s data retention policies for your specific service or subscription.

Reporting and Billing Periods: The billing period or reporting settings may be configured to only display recent data. Check if there are options to adjust the reporting period to see older costs.

If none of these solutions resolve the issue, consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
